Robert&nbsp;routes his FriendFeed over to Twitter, so it quickly showed up on Robert\u2019s Twitter feed\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Liked &quot;Wow, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheEllenShow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@theellenshow<\/a> hits 500K followers in just three weeks http:\/\/bit.ly\/WawZI&quot; http:\/\/ff.im\/1Pn1f<\/p>&mdash; Robert Scoble (@Scobleizer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Scobleizer\/status\/1422822066?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 31, 2009<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>When I tweet a link, it usually only gets about 20-25 clicks but, in this case, the clicks went through the roof according to Bit.ly. As soon as Robert liked that tweet, the link that I posted got over 900 clicks in about 6 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few thoughts on this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A simple Like or Retweet from an A-Lister like <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/scobleizer\">Robert<\/a> can drive significant traffic. This is hard proof that, with the right exposure, traffic from Twitter can achieve something similar to the Digg Effect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Twitter Effect can be very short lived. In this case, my tweet didn&#8217;t get many other retweets, so the number of clicks quickly went down after about 10 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\">Bit.ly<\/a> provides great analytics for measuring stuff like this. Is it useful enough to justify the recent $2 million round of funding?
