Congratulations to Huston Street on a well deserved AL Rookie of the Year award. That makes it back-to-back rookie of the year awards for the A’s. Bobby Crosby won it last year.

2005 Giants have heart
Regardless of how this season ends, I tip my hat to the 2005 Giants. Throw out the sub-500 record and the fact that the NL West is a joke this year. Their comeback victory over the Padres tonight showed a lot of heart. Randy Winn went 4 for 4 and hit a season-saving triple in the bottom of the 9th inning. It was Trevor Hoffman’s first blown save since April.

A’s defeat Angels 5-4
Jason Kendall scores the winning run in a wild victory today over the Angels. The A’s take the lead in the American League West with this win. This was the first day shooting with my new Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D lens. More photos on Flickr.
